MyAV·¶ and Difficult Dialogues: informing debate about public health

MyAV·¶ partnered with Difficult Dialogues for a forum in Goa to encourage discussion around the pivotal question, “Is India’s health a grand challenge?”

This year MyAV·¶ partnered for the first time with for a three-day forum in Goa, to encourage discussion around the pivotal question, “Is India’s health a grand challenge?”

More than 250 people attended the event, from academic experts to public policy professionals, journalists and business leaders.

Delegates from MyAV·¶ included Professor Monica Lakhanpaul (MyAV·¶ Great Ormond Street Institute for Child Health) and Professor Marie Lall (MyAV·¶ Institute of Education and Pro-Vice-Provost South Asia).

Four key themes were explored during the summit: inequality, gender, universal health care and the changing burden of disease.

Founded by MyAV·¶ alumna, Surina Narula, the annual Difficult Dialogues event aims to build a foundation for these difficult conversations, and to translate this dialogue into impact.

Difficult Dialogues is just one example of MyAVᦉ۪s increasing engagement with partners in India.

Through MyAV·¶ India Voices, academics can apply for funding to support emerging Indian partnerships. Applications close on 7 March 2017.
