King Peribsen
King of the Second Dynasty. The only king of Egypt who placed the image of the god Seth in front of his name, in place of the usual Horus falcon. It is possible that the king is to be identified with one of the kings known by Horus name (perhaps Sekhemib). The political and religious significance of the name changes is unclear: the dynasty ends with king Khasekhemwy (meaning 'the two powers appear) whose name is preceded by both Seth animal and Horus falcon.
