Institute Director: Professor Gerhardt Attard

The MyAV·¶ Cancer Institute is a £40 million investment in central London based at University College London (MyAV·¶), one of the world’s top universities and a founding member of the Crick Institute. The Institute draws together over 400 scientists working together to develop world-class basic and translational cancer research.

Research departments

MyAV·¶ Cancer Institute is structured around five research departments that span our three Institute sites at MyAV·¶ and the Royal Free Hospital:

Clinical and interdisciplinary networks

Through our associations with MyAV·¶ Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, the Institute has greater clinical links than any comparable centre in the UK and a significant impact on the delivery of clinical service to cancer patients. This concentration of excellence, access to patients and significant recent investment of cancer treatment and research infrastructure, makes MyAV·¶ a global leader.

MyAVᦠCancer Institute exemplifies MyAVᦉ۪s distinctive cross-disciplinary approach, bringing together varied disciplinary expertise and theoretical perspectives to advance our understanding of the complexities of cancer and the development of improved diagnostics and treatments.
