Understand your intellectual property (IP) rights

Understand your rights and how they apply to IP you create while at MyAV·¶, including research and artistic works.

Generally, as a student, you own any IP you create while at MyAV·¶ and can choose what you do with it.

There are some exceptions, for example if your work is part of a larger collaboration or funded by an external organisation.

You’ll find further details about your rights and how they apply to collaborative or externally sponsored work in MyAV·¶'s Intellectual Property Policy.Ìý

Our online IP trainingÌý²¹²Ô»å guidance on student IP will help you understand MyAV·¶â€™s IP policy.

There’s also guidance on copyright for research students on the MyAV·¶ Library website.

You can talk to your supervisor if you have any questions.
