Filestore@MyAV·¶: Adding your Home (N) drive to a Windows machine
Guidance on how to add your MyAV·¶ Home (N) drive to a Windows 8 or 10 machine so that you can access your MyAV·¶ files and documents.

Before you start...
- Windows 8 or 10 operating system
- A computer connected to the MyAV·¶ network either onsite or via the MyAV·¶ VPN remote access service if you are offsite
- You need to know your 7 character MyAV·¶ user ID and password
The full path that you need to access is based on the last character (letter or number) of your user ID. For example, \\ad.ucl.ac.uk\HomeA\YourUserID for user IDs ending in âAâ
Instructions
- Right-click on the Start menu (Windows logo, located on the bottom left of your desktop), and select File Explorer (Fig.1)

Drive: Select N: from the drop down menu
Folder: Enter the path below substituting ârmgzcjcâ with your own MyAV·¶ user ID:
\\ad.ucl.ac.uk\HomeC\rmgzcjc
ÌęPlease note the letter âCâ after home. You should substitute it with the last character (letter or number) of your user ID.

- You will then be prompted to enter your network credentials (Fig.4). Enter the following details:
User name: AD\YourUserID e.g. AD\uczzrt0
Password:Ìę enter your MyAV·¶ passwordFig. 4 â Enter your User name and password to connect to your MyAV·¶ Home drive - If you don't want to re-enter this information each time you access the drive then tick the Remember my credentials box.
- Click OK. Your MyAV·¶ Home drive should now be available on Windows File Explorer or My Computer screen with the drive letter you specified.
