Religion and faith

MyAV·¶ is committed to providing an inclusive learning and working environment where students and staff of all religions, and none, can thrive.

From its beginnings in 1826, one of MyAV·¶â€™s founding principles has been opposition to religious discrimination, welcomingÌýstaffÌýand students of all faiths and none.ÌýSupport and facilities are available for staff and students of all faiths.

Faith supportÌý

°Õ³ó±ðÌýMyAV·¶ Chaplaincy and Interfaith teamÌýaims toÌýfoster diversity and cohesion amongst staff and students of all religious backgrounds and none.ÌýAll students can access pastoral support for any issues relating to their faith and/or religion.Ìý

All major faiths are representedÌýby a society atÌýtheÌýMyAV·¶ Students’ Union.Ìý

There are severalÌýcontemplation/quiet roomsÌýavailable for MyAV·¶ members of staff and registered students on and near campus. °Õ³ó±ðÌýMyAV·¶ÌýStudent Centre hasÌýa prayer room with ablutions facilities attached, and a second room for silent meditationÌýor to practise mindfulness.
