Awarded part of the compensation for the Islington estate in St Mary Jamaica with his brother Rev. John Twells (q.v.), probably as trustees of 'Mrs Spooner' (Elmina Spooner, q.v.). Â
In 1871 Philip Twells aged 62 banker magistrate landowner was living at Chaseside House High Street Enfield with 6 servants. In 1851 he had been living with John Twells his father aged 74 and mother Mary aged 72 in Church Street Stoke Newington, when he was described as 'barrister actually practising.' Â Â
He died at Eastbourne 08/05/1880, leaving £300,000.
