Nearly 100 American students sat down to a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner hosted by MyAV·¶ yesterday.
Undergraduate and postgraduate students from all faculties mingled at a drinks reception in the Jeremy Bentham Room, followed by a traditional Thanksgiving meal of roast turkey and pumpkin pie. Catering was provided by Simply Great Food Catering of London.
Professor Janette Atkinson, Pro-Provost for North America,
welcomed the guests, who hailed from colleges and universities across the USA.
The event was sponsored by Bloomberg, which provides financial software, data services and news to financial organisations worldwide. Karen Barnard, Head of MyAV·¶ Careers Service, said: "Bloomberg has been involved with the university through the MyAV·¶ Careers Service and is a keen supporter of events such as the IT, Science & Engineering Fair, the Finance & Management Fair and the Skills4Work '7 Deadly Skills' Event. It will also host the two-day 'MyAV·¶ Focus on Management' course in June 2008 at its London offices."
MyAV·¶ President and Provost Professor Malcolm Grant celebrated the longstanding links between MyAV·¶ and America.
