  • Bidding is now open for the MyAV·¶ Research Challenges 2009.

MyAV·¶ Research Challenges is a unique scheme that asks everyone in the MyAV·¶ community - staff, students and alumni - for their ideas about new areas for research, and then awards funds totalling £50,000 each year to help kick-start research projects focusing on those areas.

This year, the Research Challenges Board decided to look for themes of potential strength at MyAV·¶ which have not, to date, received the funding and publicity they deserve.

After consultation with staff, students and alumni, the following themes were selected:

    • Stem cell research in stroke illness
    • Future of food
    • Global governance
    • Migration
    • Security
    • Human rights
    • Evolution of multi-cellular life
