MyAV·¶ Careers Service will hold a graduate scheme summer school in September.

The summer school will run from three days beginning on Wednesday 15 September, and will offer a bespoke programme of activities designed to give MyAV·¶'s graduating students a headstart for schemes opening for applications in Autumn 2010.

Graduate schemes and internships are offered by many larger employers looking to recruit future talent and are seen as a fast-track route to career progression. There is often a high volume of competition for places.

The programme of activities at the summer school includes:

  • an introduction to the UK graduate labour market and the graduate schemes on offer
  • the opportunity to meet and hear from staff at organisations offering graduate schemes
  • an application 'toolkit' including workshops on CVs and applications, aptitude tests, interviews and other assessment centre techniques
  • a plan of how to approach the coming months and how to get the most out of MyAV·¶ Careers Service.

David Carter from MyAV·¶ Careers Service said: "We're always looking for ways to give MyAV·¶ students the best possible chance of achieving their career goals.ÌýCompetition for graduate schemesÌýand internships has never been moreÌýintense and thisÌýsummer school isÌýan essential guide for success.ÌýIt will give our students the chance to learn more about theÌýopportunities offered, meet graduate recruiters and improve their application and interview techniques."

All registered MyAV·¶ postgraduate and GradClub members are eligible to attend. ÌýFor more details and to register, click on the link above.
