Professor Rees is MyAV·¶ Vice-Provost (Research, Innovation & Global Engagement), after serving as Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences from 2014-2022.

As MyAVᦠVice-Provost (Research, Innovation & Global Engagement), Geraint is responsible for providing vision and academic leadership for MyAVᦉ۪s world-leading research, knowledge exchange and global engagement, and the functions, services and resources that support it.

Working closely with the MyAVᦠPresident & Provost, he will provide inspirational academic leadership for MyAVᦉ۪s research, innovation and global engagement activity, and collaborate with other VP offices and Deans to ensure that research and innovation across the university continues to be of the highest quality and sustainability, delivering positive social impact.

Geraint has held a number of roles at MyAV·¶, including Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences, Professor of Cognitive Neurology, Director of the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, MyAV·¶ Pro-Provost (Academic Planning) and Pro-Vice-Provost (AI). He is a non-executive Director of MyAV·¶ Business, one of the UK’s most successful technology transfer companies, and was a Senior Scientific Advisor at DeepMind from 2018-2020.Ìý
