Announcement

Dear Ewing sarcoma community,

As chair and co-chair of the EEC, we are sorry to inform you of some very sad news.

Dr Massimo Abate, head of the SC Oncologia Pediatrica 鈥� Santobono Pausilipon, in Naples, Italy, has sadly passed away.

We wanted to honour his memory as a paediatric oncologist, bone sarcoma expert, mentor of juniors, and as an active and enthusiastic member of the EEC since attending his first meeting in London in 2018.

He was also a dear friend, who enjoyed travelling -听from Patagonia to Asia, music - he was able to perform Ry奴ichi Sakamoto on a piano or sing, cooking and caring for his family.

We have deep and tender thoughts for his wife, children and broader family, friends and colleagues.
